Andy Warhol"s Bad is the title of 1977 film by Jed Johnson, starring Susan Tyrrell. Susan Tyrrell (born March 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California, USA) is an American actress. Her best known role is as Oma in Fat City, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress in 1972. Her movie debut was in the film Shoot Out (1971). In early 2000, she suffered the loss of both legs as a result of blood clots due to the rare blood disease essential thrombocythemia. She is sometime credited as Susan Tyrell. Selected filmography * Relax, It"s Just Sex (1998) * Cry Baby (1990) * Document of the Dead (1989) * Big Top Pee-Wee (1988) * The Chipmunk Adventure (1987) * Forbidden Zone (1980) * Andy Warhol"s Bad (1977) * I Never Promised You a Rose Garden (1977) * Wizards (1977) * Fat City (1972) * Shoot Out (1971) Brigid Berlin (also known as Brigid Polk, born September 6, 1939) is an artist and former Warhol superstar. Brigid was born to socialite parents and a world of Manhattan privilege. Her father was Richard E. Berlin, chairman of the Hearst media empire for 52 years. As a child she regularly mixed with celebrities and the powerful. Her socialite mother, Honey Berlin, frequently worried about Brigid"s weight and had amphetamines prescribed to faciltate weight control. After several years as a reluctant debutante and a failed marriage, Brigid Berlin met Andy Warhol in 1964 and quickly became a central member of his entourage. After moving to Hotel Chelsea, she took on the nickname Brigid Polk because of her habit of giving out "pokes", injections of Vitamin B and amphetamines. These injections were readily available through the many "Doctor Feelgood"s"in New York and perfectly legal. Berlin appeared in many Andy Warhol films including The Chelsea Girls in which she famously injects herself while performing a monologue. She also appears in the Edie Sedgwick film Ciao! Manhattan and has recently been the subject of a documentary Pie in the Sky. Brigid was known for her obsessive taping and photographing of every day life. Selections from these tapes were later compiled to form the play Andy Warhol"s Pork. Other tapes made by her were the basis for The Velvet Underground"s first live album, Live at Max"s Kansas City (recorded 1970, released 1972). Berlin was complicit in one of Warhol"s most infamous pranks when, in 1969, Warhol announced that all of his paintings were the work of Berlin. Brigid enthusiastically followed this line when interviewed by Time. The prank led to a drop in the value of Warhol"s work and both parties eventually retracted their statements. The question of authorship looms large in valuing Warhol"s paintings to this day. In 1975, Brigid Berlin began work for Andy Warhol"s Interview magazine, a position that she held until well after Warhol"s death. Brigid Berlin is also famous for her "Tit Paintings" (1969) (artworks executed using the painter"s bare breasts) and off-Broadway one-woman shows. Brigid still suffers with obsessive-compulsive disorder, a theme that she often explores in her artwork. Filmography * Chelsea Girls (1966) * Bike Boy (1967) * Nude Restaurant, The (1967) * Imitation of Christ (1967) * Four Stars (1967) aka 24 Hour Movie * Loves of Ondine, The (1968) * Women in Revolt (1971) * Ciao! Andy Warhol, Artist / Filmmaker
* Born: 6 August 1928
* Birthplace: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
* Died: 22 February 1987 (complications from gallbladder surgery)
* Best Known As: The Campbell"s Soup can artist Name at birth: Andrew Warhola Warhol began as a commercial illustrator in New York, doing artwork for ads and magazines in the 1940s and 1950s. Eventually he crossed from commercial work to art, blurring the line between the two along the way. In the early 1960s his huge and colorful silk-screen renderings of banal objects like Coke bottles and a Campbell"s Soup can were hugely popular and established him as the leader of the so-called Pop Art movement. (His multi-color, multi-image portrait of Marilyn Monroe is another famous image from this era.) By the mid-1960s Warhol had become an icon of the psychedelic generation; he made strange and lengthy experimental movies, held famous gatherings in "The Factory," his Manhattan studio, and surrounded himself with a court of fellow artists and adoring fans. He also worked closely with the experimental rock group The Velvet Underground and (in 1969) founded the influential celebrity magazine Interview. Warhol"s attitude was summed up in part in his statement, "In the future everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes." Warhol was shot and critically wounded by an acquaintance, Valerie Solanas, in June of 1968. The incident was the basis of the 1996 film I Shot Andy Warhol and Lou Reed"s 1990 song "I

Alien Sex Fiend is a gothic rock/deathrock band from the UK। Getting their start at the Batcave club in London in the early 1980s, they quickly became known in the gothic scene for their dark electronic, industrial sound, heavy samples and loops and manic vocals. Made up of Nik Fiend and his spouse Mrs. Fiend the band has put out a long discography over the years. Switching up easily from heavy industrial to ambient experimental styles, fans of Alien Sex Fiend are always wondering what the next album is going to entail. While never achieving mainstream commercial success (whether they wanted it or not), they remain a fixture on college radio. And can boast as being the band to release the world"s first (and probably only) 11" single, "EST" in 1984. Their video for "Zombified" was featured on an episode of the MTV animated series Beavis & Butt-head. They now reside in Cardiff, Wales.
Rock t shirts and Punk clothes, band t shirts, music t shirts: new arrivals
punk rock history, and punk rock t-shirts and clothing we mostly carry,
Punk rock is an anti-establishment rock music genre and movement that emerged in the mid-1970s. Preceded by a variety of protopunk music of the 1960s and early 1970s, punk rock developed between 1974 and 1977 in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, where groups such as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash were recognized as the vanguard of a new musical movement.
Punk rock became a major phenomenon in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s; its popularity elsewhere was more limited. During the 1980s, forms of punk rock emerged in small scenes around the world, often rejecting commercial success and association with mainstream culture. By the turn of the century, punk rocks legacy had led to development of the alternative rock movement, and new punk bands popularized the genre decades after its first heyday.
The first wave of punk aimed to be aggressively modern, distancing itself from the bombast and sentimentality of early 1970s rock. According to Ramones drummer Tommy Ramone, In its initial form, a lot of [1960s] stuff was innovative and exciting. Unfortunately, what happens is that people who could not hold a candle to the likes of Hendrix started noodling away. Soon you had endless solos that went nowhere. By 1973, I knew that what was needed was some pure, stripped down, no bullshit rock n roll. John Holmstrom, founding editor of Punk fanzine recalls feeling punk rock had to come along because the rock scene had become so tame that [acts] like Billy Joel and Simon and Garfunkel were being called rock and roll, when to me and other fans, rock and roll meant this wild and rebellious music.[In critic Robert Christgaus description, It was also a subculture that scornfully rejected the political idealism and Californian flower-power silliness of hippie myth. Patti Smith, in contrast, suggests in the documentary 25 Years of Punk that the hippies and the punks were linked by a common anti-establishment mentality. In any event, some of punks leading figures made a show of rejecting not only mainstream rock and the broader culture it was associated with, but their own most celebrated predecessors: No Elvis, Beatles or Rolling Stones in 1977, declared The Clash. That year, when punk broke nationwide in Great Britain, was to be both a musical and a cultural Year Zero. Even as nostalgia was discarded, many in the scene adopted a nihilistic attitude summed up by the Sex Pistols slogan No Future
Punk bands often emulate the bare musical structures and arrangements of 1960s garage rock.This emphasis on accessibility exemplifies punks DIY aesthetic and contrasts with what those in the scene regarded as the ostentatious musical effects and technological demands of many mainstream rock bands of the early and mid-1970s. A 1976 issue of the English punk fanzine Sideburns featured an illustration of three chords, captioned This is a chord, this is another, this is a third. Now form a band
